COMMUTER PROGRAMS
Workout to Work - BIKE

Walking or biking some or all of the way to work offers many benefits: it’s healthy and it helps the environment.
Enter the miles you bike or walk every month online to get your rewards, including gift cards to sports stores.
You’ll also be invited to special lunch workshops, walking tours, and bike-to-work events.

Guaranteed Ride Home - Have a Ride Home When the Weather is Bad:
Sign up for the Guaranteed Ride Home Program and as a cycle commuter you can use your ride in the case of inclement weather. The program provides you with a free ride via a taxi up to six times a year in case of an emergency, illness or unexpected overtime while at work. For cycle commuters only, you can also use the program if the weather conditions make it unsafe to ride home from work. Find out How Guaranteed Ride Home Works and read Frequently Asked Questions by clicking each page title.

Bicycle Commuter Group
In an effort to connect more with bike commuters, the Seaport TMA has a Bicycle Commuter Group and we would like to invite you to participate!

The purpose of the Bicycle Commuter Group is to:

  • provide feedback about bicycle parking, roadway conditions and safety issues in the South Boston Waterfront

  • brainstorm ideas for the annual Bike Week events, workshop topics and new incentives to encourage people to bike to work

  • network with fellow bike commuters about gear, routes, bike shops, etc.

Most meetings take place during lunch and Seaport TMA provides food and a location. All we ask from you is that you attend at least three meetings a year and actively provide feedback and ideas so we can better serve you.

If you are interested in participating in the group, please contact Lauren Grymek via email. All abilities are welcome!

Bicycle Buddy Program:
Seaport TMA is looking for experienced bicycle commuters who are familiar with their bike commute to volunteer as a Bicycle Buddy. We are also looking for newcomers to bicycle commuting who would like to ride with a buddy a few times to work.

We match buddies with cyclists who have yet to try biking to work. If there is someone who matches your commute you will set up a mutually convenient time and place to meet so that you can bike to work together at least once.

Encourage fellow cyclists who have never biked to work before to try it. Help them become familiar with a route and inspire them to make bicycle commuting a regular part of their routine.  If you are interested in being a Bicycle Buddy or would like to find a buddy, please register here.
