COMMUTER PROGRAMS
Workout to Work -- Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to participate in Workout to Work?

Employees and residents of a Seaport TMA member company are eligible to participate in all Seaport TMA commuter programs. For Workout to Work, you must walk or ride your bike for some or all of your commute.

How far do I have to walk or ride my bike in order to participate in Workout to Work?

While there is no minimum number of miles, there are specifics about what qualifies for this program. If you are completely replacing one part of your commuter with walking or riding your bike, then you are eligible. Examples: if you walk to/from South Station to your office instead of taking the Silver Line; if you ride your bike to/from home to the train station instead of driving your car. Walking from the Silver Line's World Trade Center Station to the World Trade Center West building does not qualify.

How do I register for Workout to Work?

Registration in Workout to Work is completed online. If there are any problems with your registration, we will contact you via email. If you think there is a problem with your registration (i.e. you did not see the "Thank You" page when you clicked "Submit"), please contact us.

I am having trouble registering. Who should I contact?

Email the Seaport TMA or call (617) 385-5515.

How long will I stay in the program?

You remain in the program until: (1) you are no longer walking or riding your bike to work for some or all of your commute; (2) you opt out of the program; (3) you are no longer an employee or resident of a Seaport TMA member company; or (4) you are removed from the program by the Seaport TMA staff for misuse.

Will Seaport TMA share my personal/contact information?

Your personal information is kept solely in our databases and is not sent to any outside organizations for any reason. We may use information about your uses when compiling statistical data about the program overall, but your personal information (name, employer, home address, email, etc.) is not included. Additionally your employer may ask us for a list of names of employees participating in our programs.

Do I need to re-register or update my information every year?

No. As with all other Seaport TMA programs, you remain in the program until: (1) you are no longer utilizing an alternative commute mode a minimum of two days per week; (2) you opt out of the program; (3) you are no longer an employee or resident of a Seaport TMA member company; or (4) you are removed from the program by the Seaport TMA staff for misuse.

How much does Workout to Work cost?

Workout to Work is one of several free commuter programs offered by the Seaport TMA. There is no charge for participation. The taxi cab voucher we send you covers the entire cost of your ride, including fare, tip and tolls.

How will I know if I've won the monthly raffle?

Winners are announced in our monthly commuter e-newsletter. There is a link to the current month's newsletter on our home page. To ensure that you receive the newsletter, add SeaportTMA@fmr.com to your contacts. If you still do not receive it, please contact us via email or call (617) 385-5515.

I won this month's raffle. What do I need to do to get my prize?

Email us. We will tell you if that month's prize is something specific or if you have won the choice of a gift card to a sports store. If that month's prize is specific, it will be mailed to you directly. If the prize is the choice of a gift card, we will reply to your email with a list of gift cards to choose from (usually Finish Line, Foot Locker, Nike, EMS, REI or Sports Authority). Let us know your choice and it will be mailed to you shortly thereafter.

Where will you send my prize and how long will it take for it to arrive?

All communication is done through your employer, so prizes are mailed to you at your work address. Outside of unforeseen occurrences, prizes are mailed out within the same month and typically within two weeks of announcement.

I won this month's raffle. Can I exchange the prize I received for the gift card of my choice?

As a non-profit organization, the Seaport TMA utilizes the most cost-efficient means possible for prizes. At times this may mean that we have other items that we use instead of purchasing gift cards. In order to remain fiscally responsible, we must use what makes the most sense to enable us to continue providing our programs.

I won the raffle but never received my prize. What do I do?

Email us and we will work to rectify the situation.

I lost my gift card. Can I get another one?

We may be able to move the balance from the lost card to a new one, but this is not always the case and is at the retailer's discretion, not ours. Email us. We keep strict records of each and every prize sent out, so we will do what we can to rectify the situation. Please note that this can take quite a bit of time to correct.

How will I know that my miles submission went through?

When you click "Submit," you should see a message that says: "Thank you for submitting your status report and for participating in Try Transit. You should receive your next Commuter Check soon." If you do not see this, please complete the monthly status report again.
