Workout to Work

Walking or biking some or all of the way to work offers many
benefits:
it’s healthy and it helps the environment.
Enter the miles you walk or bike online every month to get your
rewards,
including gift cards to sports stores.
You’ll also be invited to special lunch workshops, walking tours,
and bike-to-work events. |

Goals: Reduce
individual car trips and improve your health.
Rather than sitting in
traffic, creating air pollution and spending thousands of dollars
each year driving to work, try walking or bicycling. Then track the
miles you walk or bike to/from work or a transit stop and submit
them to us each month.

Use your own
fuel. Walking one mile burns approximately 100 calories.

You're not
alone. Four million Americans regularly bike-to-work. In
Boston ("America's Walking City"), 12% of employees commute by
walking.

There's a
movement afoot. In response to health concerns related to a
sedentary lifestyle, more Americans are seeking healthy ways to
get in shape. If you have trouble fitting exercise into your
busy day, schedule it into your commute.

Know the traffic laws
and safety rules. Always cross at a crosswalk and wear bright
clothing at night.

How it Works
Eligibility: If you walk or bicycle for some or all of
your commute and are an employee of a
Seaport TMA member
company, you are eligible to participate in this program.
1.
Register
for Workout to Work.
2. Keep
track of the number of miles and days you walk or bike for
some or all of your commute each month.
3.
Complete the online
monthly
miles submission form. To be included in the monthly
raffle, you must do so by the 7th of the next month (i.e.
keep track of miles and days in January to submit the report
by February 7th). If you miss the deadline, please submit
your miles anyway.
Note:
You are eligible
for entry into the monthly raffle after you have been registered in
the program for one full month. Example: if you register in the
program on January 15th, you can submit your miles by February 7th
but you are not eligible to be entered into the monthly raffle until
March.

are noted in the monthly e-newsletter. The newsletter is your
resource for updates and changes to all of our commuter programs. To
