WHY JOIN THE SEAPORT TMA?
As the
Seaport District continues to expand, the need for effective travel
demand management services increases. Improving access to the area
is a priority among many Seaport District businesses, and the
Seaport TMA fulfills this priority by ensuring reliable and convenient access to your business
for employees, visitors, and clients.
Our members
enjoy the benefits of networking with fellow business leaders and
being part of a neighborhood organization that works to improve the
ever-evolving Seaport District. All are committed to improving
air-quality and mitigating congestion throughout the area.
Below are some of the
many benefits
enjoyed by SEAPORT TMA members:
DEP Rideshare Regulation compliance ~ Developing and
distributing surveys and a plan for compliance with DEP requirements
and assisting with annual reporting.
City of Boston Transportation Access Plan Agreement (TAPA)
compliance ~ For developers with a TAPA, membership in the Seaport TMA
often fulfills the requirements set forth by the
City of Boston. TAPAs outline specific Transportation Demand
Management (TDM) programs and initiatives that must be made available to employees
and or tenants; Seaport TMA services and programs mirror these TDM
strategies.
Relocation Presentation and Orientations ~ The Seaport TMA
has worked to relocate thousands of employees to the Seaport District, including John Hancock Financial, Fidelity Investments,
Veritude, Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott and Foley Hoag LLP.
Our orientation sessions on commuting options and area development
projects, as well as move-in materials and welcome breakfasts help ensure employees will find their
new office easily and will enjoy working in their new surroundings.
Directions ~ We regularly update and consistently monitor directions
(web, print, voice, etc.) to and from our members' worksites, especially in light of the many on-going
roadway changes.
Transportation
Materials ~
Information is always changing, but with our access
to MBTA schedules, Seaport District Area Maps, ferry service
information and other transportation materials, our members are on
top of things. We can provide an array of materials which can
then be distributed to employees, residents, tenants, clients and guests.
Communication and Marketing ~ We
communicate regularly with our members via
Quarterly Newsletters, Monthly Updates, Bi-Monthly Meetings, a Monthly
Calendar of Events, on-site information tables, employee
presentations and one-on-one
consulting.
Advocacy & Partnerships ~ The Seaport TMA advocates on our members'
behalves for public
transit improvements, pedestrian and bike safety improvements, infrastructure changes
and more. We meet regularly with the MBTA, City of Boston/Boston
Transportation Department, Massachusetts Port Authority, Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (Central Artery/Tunnel project)
and many other regional and state agencies. Our "place at
the table" with these agencies will ensure your concerns and
questions are heard and addressed.
Commuter Incentive Programs ~
Our commuter incentive programs are designed to promote and support
alternative transportation. Employees and residents of our
member companies enjoy a variety of programs that reward them for
choosing to commute alternatively.
Networking Opportunities ~ Seaport TMA membership represents a
diverse mix of area businesses and developers offering a rare
opportunity for our members to work with and get to know their
neighbors. Our bi-monthly member meetings provide the perfect
setting for forming new connections and hearing about the
initiatives taking place throughout the Seaport District.
Roadway Changes, Detour Announcements and other
infrastructure information updates ~ Acting as the center of
communication between our members and area agencies, we regularly disseminate information about what's happening in the area and how it will impact employees, tenants, residents and clients.
Our Membership ~ 24 corporate members representing 17,500
commuters and residents plus over a million annual visitors.
