What is Seaport TMA?
The
Seaport Transportation Management Association ("Seaport
TMA") is a non-profit association of private
businesses, employers, developers, and property managers
in the South Boston Waterfront dedicated to easing
commutes and reducing local traffic congestion.
Founded in 1994 through the cooperation of three major
area employers - Fidelity Investments, P&G/The Gillette Company, and
the Seaport World Trade Center - the Seaport TMA is a neighborhood group that ensures
reliable access to the South Boston Waterfront for
employees and visitors alike.
Seaport TMA offers commuter
programs
and transportation
alternatives that
reduce the number of people who drive alone to the South
Boston Waterfront. Through collaboration with the MBTA, City of
Boston, the
Massachusetts Port Authority, the State Executive Office of
Transportation and many others, we encourage and support
the development of new
transportation alternatives.
As area employers and property owners seek solutions to reducing
traffic congestion and
promoting full use of the transportation network, membership in the
Seaport TMA has grown. Our 28 corporate members represent more than
19,500 commuters and a million annual visitors in the South Boston
Waterfront.
Seaport TMA membership is open to all organizations in the
South Boston Waterfront and
includes a diverse mix of private sector businesses,
non-profits and developers.
